Mill Farm may have gone a wee wee bit off track with the design of their new Gummi Lighthouses candy. Then again, they might just be a good time waiting to happen.

Dog Pack Attacks Croc In Northern Territory

June 11, 2008

Not for the squeamish…

At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a certain justice manifested within that cruelty.

The crocodile, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered the ‘apex predator’, can still fall victim to implemented ‘team work’ strategy, made possible due to the tight knit social structure and ‘survival of the pack mentality’ bred into the canines.

See the remarkable photograph below courtesy of Nature Magazine. Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the croc preventing it from breathing, while another dog has a hold on the tail to keep it from thrashing. The third dog attacks the soft underbelly of the croc.

Mary Jane, where are you?

Those kookie Japanese customs officers are at it again. It seems that in an unauthorized effort to “train” his drug sniffing dog a customs officer at Narita International Airport placed 5 oz of marijuana in a passenger’s luggage. When the dog was unable to locate the drugs the officer followed suit and was also unable to locate them, forgetting which bag he had planted them in. If you’ve travelled through Narita lately and find a small metal box of tobacco in your luggage you can contact Japanese Customs to return it. Or, give me a call and I’ll assist you in its disposal!
